New York Community Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE: NYB) (the "Company") today
announced that its chairman, president, and chief executive officer,
Joseph R. Ficalora, will participate in the Citi Financial Services
Conference to be held in New York City on Wednesday, January 28, 2009.
Mr. Ficalora's presentation is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Eastern
Time and will focus on the Company's fourth quarter 2008 performance and
its business strategies.
A simultaneous webcast of the presentation, including any questions and
answers, will be available at the Company's web site, www.myNYCB.com.
A replay of the webcast will be available within one hour of the
presentation's conclusion, and will be archived at the Company's web
site, together with the accompanying PowerPoint slides, through February

As previously announced, the Company plans to issue its fourth quarter
2008 earnings release at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January
27th, and will host a conference call to discuss the highlights at 9:30
