New York Community Bancorp, Inc. to Issue 3rd Quarter 2007 Earnings Release at 8:00 A.M. (ET) on Friday, October 19, 2007

New York Community Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE: NYB) today indicated that it will issue its earnings release for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2007 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Friday, October 19, 2007, rather than after the market closes on October 18th, as previously announced. The release will be posted to the Company's web site, www.myNYCB.com, upon issuance.

The date and time of the release were changed to be consistent with the Company's long-standing practice of issuing its earnings before the market opens and conducting its conference call on the same day.

As previously announced, the Company's post-earnings conference call will be conducted on Friday, October 19th, at 9:30 a.m. (ET), and will be simultaneously webcast at www.myNYCB.com. The web cast will be archived through 5:00 p.m. on October 31, 2007.
