Simone Betz serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (“CHRO”) of Flagstar Bank, N.A. since January 2024. Prior to joining the Company, Simone served as the US CHRO for ABN AMRO Bank for 15 years. In that capacity, Simone was a member of the Country Management Team and the Global HR Leadership Team. During her tenure with ABN AMRO Ms. Betz was responsible for advising the senior leadership team and board on key organizational and management issues. Ms. Betz and her team also supported the successful build out of multiple business lines including Natural Resources, Structured Finance, Global Markets, DCM, and ECM. In addition, Ms. Betz led the US roll out of the global cultural integration with Fortis, following its acquisition by ABN AMRO.
Ms. Betz brings with her 30 years of HR experience in financial services. She spent the first 10 years of her career with Deutsche Bank. In addition to covering many of the front and back office teams as a business partner during that period, she also held various specialist roles including HR Head of Latin America and HR Lead for the M&A Project Management Office. Ms. Betz was also on the cultural integration team for several significant acquisitions, including Bankers Trust and Scudder Investments. During her tenure she also worked at Deutsche Bank’s head office in Frankfurt, Germany and was responsible for workforce planning and global mobility for the Americas region. In this capacity she led a team that developed a global a pre -assignment cultural training program for expatriates.
Ms. Betz also held the role of Senior Business Partner at HSBC covering Fixed Income Sales and Trading, during which time she supported the Mortgage business buildout from the ground up. Following that Ms. Betz also spent time at a regional German bank, HSH Nordbank and was responsible for a full operational excellence upgrade of the HR function in preparation of their IPO.
Ms. Betz received a Bachelor Degree in International Business from SUNY Plattsburgh and holds a Masters of Human Resources Management from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
In addition, she also holds a certificate in the Human Resources Executive Suite Program of Harvard Business School and is a certified Value Coach through CEO Works.
